Our
mission
Welcome to our historic preservation non-profit organization created in memory of the demolished 1911 Gertrude C. Reading School in Flat Rock, Michigan. Our mission is to honor our city’s past through the saving and renovation of historic structures, inspiring thoughtful development and community connection.
We are transforming the historic Stoup-Littlefield House into a living home history museum and intimate event space—with interiors informed by late-19th-century furnishings and historically appropriate details, interpreted through a contemporary design lens.
The home is being carefully deconstructed and reassembled, with historic artifacts logged, architectural discoveries documented, and original materials researched to honor its past and ensure its future.
Those interested in supporting our mission can do so through volunteering, sharing our story, or contributing financially, which all help advance our preservation efforts.
